Welcome to Khulu Bush Camp, Hwange National Park’s quintessential luxury safari lodge. Inspired by the breathtaking splendor of its natural surrounds, Khulu Bush Camp reflects Africa’s timeless wonder and natural beauty, providing you with the ultimate and utterly unforgettable safari experience.
Khulu Bush Camp is the smaller, more intimate sister lodge to its neighbouring Ivory Lodge. The excellent accessibility does not take away from its unparalleled feeling of seclusion and remoteness in the true African wilderness. Khulu Bush Camp is a tribute to Cedric Wilde, one of the Directors of the Amalinda Safari Collection, who it is named after. Khulu is the community and staff’s affectionate name for Cedric and it means ‘grandfather’. If you are lucky enough to be in camp with Khulu himself your evenings will be spent around the fire, talking of days gone by and strumming to old country tunes.
The beauty of this camp is that it combines luxurious and private accommodation with old world hospitality. Khulu overlooks an ancient riverbed, in today’s terms called a ‘vlei’, known to attract a variety of the greatest wildlife and bird life in Hwange National Park, right on your doorstep.

“We stayed for 3 nights with our family at Khulu Bush Camp (8 persons: parents and 3 grown up kids with their partners). What a wonderful place to stay! Our host Jaimie and staff were superb, taking such good care of us. Our guide Dudley tried so hard to show us a leopard- sadly without success! However we saw a big herd of elephants (100-150 animals!) What an adventure! We enjoyed every minute of our stay and can only highly recommend the KHULU BUSH CAMP!”-Sebastian P
“Brilliant three nights at Khulu Camp! From the friendly welcome by the camp manager, who made us feel right at home, to our highly knowledgeable guide, Durdley, the staff were brilliant. Our ‘bungalow had both inside and outside shower plus a bathtub under the tree! Elephants come and watch you! Nice food and drinks in the beautiful main lodge where you watch the elephants in their hundreds around the waterhole and have drinks at the bar with elies drinking from the plunge pool three meters away.” –thomasmI1725RO
“This is the most incredible camp with the most friendliest staff!!! The manager Jamie is amazing and can’t do enough for you!!! Food is the best I have ever had and have stayed at many camps all over Zimbabwe and Botswana!! The camp is beautiful and the staff very accommodating!! The pool is so amazing and they fill it with fresh water daily after the elephants come to drink it down. My kids were 2 metres from wild elephants safely dangling their feet in the plunge pools as elephants cautiously and gently came to drink. Words cannot describe the experience” –scubaman C
