“We stayed at GacheGache after a hell of a ride from Chizarira National Park on the legendary Binga-Karoi road and felt relaxed within 30 minutes of our arrival. The chalets are nicely set on the banks of Lake Kariba and are open which helps air circulation once you go to bed (all chalets have mosquito nets). Statt is lovely, so is the food. If you are at GacheGache you HAVE to fish for bream and tiger!” –hiasibra2015
“Made another trip to Gache Gache in early May. This was our second visit in a year and we were not disappointed. Spending time with Ray and David (and this time Pat) is always a pleasure, exploring what nature has put on its table for us each day. This time we experienced huge numbers of crocs tackling resident hippos – quite a primeval scene. We also had great birds, especially round the lake foreshore plus of course the fishing and stunning sunsets. Sydney was in fine form with his cooking – some of the best fish and chips you will find anywhere. Elliot, Chris and the rest of the staff looked after us very well. Thanks to everyone.” –Africafe
“We visited Gache Gache for 5 nights after our wedding in Harare, with 20 of our friends and family from all over the world! It’s got to be one of the best trips we’ve been on! Andrea was extremely helpful throughout the booking process, and Pat and Ray were just fantastic hosts, nothing was too much to ask! It was my husbands birthday while we were there, they arranged for a birthday cake and the staff sang happy birthday, it was awesome! We also had a bottle of bubbles in our room on arrival as we were on honeymoon, a very special touch. Ray was fantastic taking us on fishing trips, game drives and sundowner cruises, and spending quite some time searching for ele’s for us! David and the other staff were also very friendly and helpful and we felt so looked after and relaxed on our trip. It really is a special place and we have so many happy memories of our post wedding holiday here! Can’t wait to go back some day!” –Janine J
